While our main itinerary is built around the full 10-day trip, we’ve included bonus 5-day and 7-day Switzerland itineraries that show you exactly how we’d shorten the trip without trying to cram too much in. You’ll still get all of the detailed recommendations, activities, restaurants, transportation tips, and family travel advice from the full guide—you can simply choose the itinerary that fits your trip best.
Q: We're going in winter/shoulder season. Is this a summer-only guide?
A: This guide is designed primarily for May through September, when the mountain lifts, hiking trails, playgrounds, and family activities we recommend are most likely to be open. You can absolutely use the guide for planning a trip outside of those months. Our hotel, restaurant, transportation, and destination recommendations will still be helpful—but some of the specific activities and mountain experiences may be closed or operating on a limited schedule. If you’re traveling in winter or early spring, we wouldn’t recommend relying on this as your only planning resource.

A: This is the first edition of our Switzerland guide, created in 2026, and we plan to keep the information as current and helpful as possible as we continue traveling to Switzerland. Because this is our first version, we haven’t finalized exactly how future editions or updates will be delivered.
